Yellowstone National Park Photo Trip

Photos from a photo trip to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park...

During the first week of June, I went on a short photo trip in the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National parks.

I got to see some pretty impressive geothermal features, including Old Faithful of course, and a chance to photograph some great landscapes.

In addition there was wildlife all around - bison, bears, elk and more. Of course that required driving up and down the valley a few times, and being on the lookout for animals and their young ones.

Its been so long since I published some photos. Well, I just posted a Yellowstone album highlighting some of the pictures I took. Incidently, its on my new photos subdomain, as I transitioned that part of my site into a separate one, running over ASP.NET MVC.

Yellowstone and the Tetons really are just photographer's dreams! I need to go back now that I have better equipment than last time, and digital now!

Thanks for sharing your photos.

@Brian - I totally hear you... in fact, invariably, I always think after visiting some new place: "That was the preview trip. Now that I've checked it out, I need to return and really know what to do and where to click the next time, when I know a bit more." :-)

You should make yourself a nice keepsake photobook at Inkubook.com, the only Silverlight-based photobook site!

Gorgeous photos. Thanks for sharing them.

Just a note, though. I'm pretty sure the critters you have labeled "mountain goats" are bighorns. There are mountain goats in Yellowstone but they are different mammals than these pictured and more rarely seen, especially close up.

I mention it because I made the same mistake once upon a time and some kind soul enlightened me.

Really enjoyed your photography. You have a gift.

@Wendy - Thanks.

You're right - they're not mountain goats, but big horn sheep (like the male one in the set preceeding them). I'll fix it next time I update the gallery. We were discussing mountain goat during the trip, and I guess that must have stuck with me, or perhaps because we saw those sheep in mountainous terrain. Thanks for letting me know though!
