Web Matrix Sneak Peek #1

Sneak peek and screen shot of the new upcoming ASP.NET Web Matrix version. Watch this space for more...
A new updated version of Web Matrix is in the works. A few of us on the ASP.NET team have been working on incorporating some of the comments and suggestions made by users alongside our ASP.NET v2 features.

Here's a screenshot with a sneak peek of the upcoming, soon to be released Web Matrix build. In particular this highlights the new XP-ish UI of Web Matrix with support for theming and high color images. I'll be putting out more screenshots in the next few days... perhaps one a day until we ship. That would make sure we release it before I run out of screenshots ;-) Stay tuned... there will be screenshots of new functionality shortly.

Wow! I'm definatly going to have to have fun with this when it comes out :) I looked at the "old" one, and ended up using VS.NET, but I think this might fit nicely for some "out of office" (ie, no money) projects

Thanks!

Hello,
This new tool looks really great ! I hope it comes out very soon. Is there some list of the added or enhanced features available ?

Nice work done !

Nikhil,

This looks amazing! One question:

When will the .NET UI framework you are using to build this be available for us to use in our applications? It's a crime to keep something that cool all locked up.

Do you have any plans on making the source code of Web Matrix availiable online?

Currently no plans to make the IDE source itselft available, though I do think I want to put out the source for various features that plug in into the IDE using its extensibility, UI framework etc.
