Happy New Year

Best wishes for a happy New Year to all you folks out there!

Last night we drove out downtown to catch the fireworks show at the Space Needle. Rather than joining in the celebration right underneath the needle in Seattle Center, Seema and I decided to check out the fireworks from Kerry Park in Queen Anne. I think this spot has one of the best space needle views... almost a helicopter-like view.

I was a bit surprised (don't know why... it is new years after all) to find the number of people and cars in that usually quiet neighborhood. Anyway, we parked the car some ways off, but made it in good time to watch the fireworks show, hear the whistles from a loud group in the crowd and bring in the New Year. Luckily the rain remained a drizzle - totally ignorable by Seattle standards. Included here is a firework sequence toward the end of the show.
