I've been on sort of a hiatus from blogging ... lots of stuff going on here on a new project thats kept me busy ... definitely looking forward to sharing and blogging more details about that at MIX07 and beyond. I also noticed the titles and descriptions for my two sessions I'll be presenting have been finally updated so they are more accurate. I've copied them here along with some of my thoughts that went into putting these together:
AJAX Patterns with ASP.NET AJAX
This session takes a deeper look at the AJAX paradigm by discussing key development patterns. It demonstrates implementing them using a combination of out-of-the-box features and as well as features built by leveraging the extensibility of the platform. Patterns covered range from fundamentals such as networking, search optimization, navigation, and unobtrusive script attachment to user interface usability techniques such as visual notifications, and customization. The demonstrations are illustrated in the context of a simple scenario, but are designed to be applied directly to real-world applications.
My key goal with this session is to show how ASP.NET AJAX provides a great platform and extensibility that enables implementing patterns beyond basic AJAX enrichment. I have talked to this topic in the past, but I plan on including some brand new material and demos.
Developing ASP.NET AJAX Controls with "WPF/E"
This session demonstrates how you can build a new generation of ASP.NET AJAX controls (server and client-side components) that leverage "WPF/E" to go beyond HTML to enable a new class of compelling user experiences and scenarios. These server controls represent a powerful paradigm that you can leverage to incrementally enrich your ASP.NET applications while preserving a familiar control-based programming model. "WPF/E" is a cross-platform technology that brings new user interface capabilities such as vector graphics, media, animations and XAML. This talk shows how "WPF/E" fits naturally into the AJAX development model.
I've been focusing most of my time in the WPF/E area in the past few months, and whats exciting about this is allows me to demonstrate how all the ASP.NET AJAX stuff I've worked on and the new WPF/E stuff are part of a continuum, and complement each other. The other thing that is exciting about WPF/E generally is it creates a platform that starts to help fulfill some of the items listed in my
browser/scripting wish list post.
Now to get busy and cranking on some demos but hopefully, I'll have some posts between now and MIX to share as well... :-)
