Fall Pictures

Pictures of fall leaves and scenes from Plumas County in California (taken on a recent vacation in October)...

I spent some time this weekend getting a batch of fall pictures from an October vacation ready, before it gets too long after fall.

While visiting my parents in California, we drove to Plumas County (about 150 mi north of Sacramento) to catch some fall colors. Apparently the fall colors are a highlight of this little known area. As mentioned by the locals at the visitor center, the red and yellow fall colors are exaggerated further by the greens from evergreens in the midst adding some contrast. We were quite lucky - supposedly the colors peaked during the weekend that we visited. They were really spectacular.

This album is a bit larger than my usual batches with about 70 pictures... anyway, enjoy!

Something is wrong with the display of http://www.nikhilk.net/Photo.aspx?id=300 though!

Thanks Rachit. I fixed the photo you point to - it is vertically oriented, but was being displayed in horizontal orientation...

Hi Nikhil,

I just wanted to post that I really dig your work. You have a wonderful eye and a key grasp on your camera. I am also a photographer and have opened a weblog, I have just started to realize the importance of blogs to showcase and even reach the viewers by writing my views on photography as a whole. Please check out my work sometime! I am trying to think of ideas to bring people together that have a talent such as yourself. I think a circle of weblogs could be a valueable key to our success. Anyways, keep up the outstanding work!

Awesome snaps! Came here for technical stuff, and got more then expected, on both counts, tech as well as non-tech.

I think you should sell your work! I'm both a developer and a photographer and I thought I was pretty good. You take it to a whole new level.

You're pictures are beautiful! I would love to see more nature shots as your pictures make me think the object in the photo is actually right in front of me.
